Southern Maryland RC&D is governed by a Board of Directors composed entirely of citizens from the communities we serve. This Board is the driving force behind all of RC&D's good work. There are a wide variety of skills and professions represented. We have educators, farmers, conservation professionals, and business managers. 

The Board of Directors includes members appointed by County Commissioners/Executives, local Forest Conservancy District Boards and Soil Conservation Districts, and the Tri-County Council for Southern Maryland. There are 16 such designated positions, and the Board may have up to 27 members in total. All members are volunteers - they receive no compensation for their considerable involvement with Southern Maryland RC&D.
